The newest luxury brand on the block, Nubeo, has chosen Kobe Bryant to sponsor their new brand ambassador. The new sports watch is called the Black Mamba which is derived from Kobe’s court nickname.

Kobe is very vocal about the fact that the has been actively involved in the watches design process and Nubeo clams that it has created the most complex luxury watch case because of the numerous parts involved in the construction of the case.

Breitling Clocks in Airports

Just walked into the Maple Leaf executory lounge at Vancouver International Airport, and noticed for the first time that the clocks in the lounge are all Breitling! They have about 6-7 of them with different timezones, and they look very much like the Breitling Aircraft Clocks. I grabbed a chance Aircraft clock photo off the net to give you guys some idea of what I’m talking about:

I would indeed love to get my grubby little hands on one of those clocks!!! Same as the ones I’ve seen in the Breitling dealers. (more…)

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona White Gold and Diamonds

Rolex introduced two new Cosmograph Daytona luxury watches, at Baselworld 2009. Both cases come in polished 18k white gold and measure 40mm in central chord. Each features two rows of diamonds, with a long face enamel arabian numerals and a pave diamond dial, or diamonds and rubies with a pave diamond dial.

Urwerk King Cobra Watch
Urwerk releases its newest watch, the Urkwerk King Cobra UR-CC1. The watch features a Linear Retrograde Jump Hour complication, linear retograde minutes complication and a standard seconds and age indication. The caliber is in-house developed besides 3 years and called the UR-CC1. The case measures 45mm x 44mm so the watch sits highly impressively in succession the wrist.

The Urwerk King Cobra will be limited to only 50 peices, and features a triple-cam design.

Since my Rolex Yacht-Master had to leave my modest collection of watches to make way for an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, I am left with some typical sporty Rolexes. Although I love my GMT-Master II and Sea-Dweller in stainless steel, the high polish and platinum effect of the Yacht-Master is definately being missed. So, after I finished my work today, I started looking around on the internet as being a decent replacement in the (far) future.

Approximately 4500 euro will purchase me a slightly used Yacht-Master ref.16622 anew, however, this money also gives some very particular alternatives that also might do the trick conducive to me. (more…)

Maurice Lacroix recently unveiled the Masterpiece Lune Retrograde. Following the introduction of the ML 150 and 151 last year, this watch features ML’s third in-house caliber – the ML 152. Maurice Lacroix has released no less than three in-house calibers in the past 12 months. Pretty overpowering.

I apothegm this vintage Heuer Camaro chronograph earlier today, over at Hodinkee. It features a mournful matte dial, three chronograph subdials and sporty contrasting red hands. After running a few searches, I could only discovery one available for sale here. What a beautiful watch. I am surprised there are no plans to revive this model.

Girard-Perregaux is offering a one-of-a-kind ww.tc pleasure watch for the Only Watch ‘09 charity auction. The third number printed at once of this charity timepiece auction will support the development of research on therapeutic treatments for children afflicted with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. For the first time, this watch features a combination of a fly-back chronograph and the hours of the world, with a ceramic case and a new dial. For the dial, GP has chosen Monaco to portray Europe on the ring displaying 24 world time cities. The high tech case is composed of sum of two units parts; a devilish ceramic case and an inner titanium container. Black ceramic gives the watch a sporty behold time substance extremely light and resistant.

Placed under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the charity cant night will take attribute in the Principality on September 24, 2009.
